30characters - day 26 - Avelin
more 30characters done while i had no net. i did finish! i just had to use my phone's camera to do it.
avelin is the goddess of the rakwulvs - aliens who inhabit a world not far from hekshano. a primarily wet and dark world with huge swamps and bogs, avelin holds the planet in her feet and guides the winds and light to reach her people. she has no hands, because hands are ultimately only a tool she has given to her people to allow them to pull themselves out of the mud.
yup

For some reason this makes me think of Japans historic isolationism. I wonder:
1) What would have happened if they opened up to the world before Admiral Perry?
2) What would have happened if they had not attacked Pearl Harbor, and had annexed Korea and NE China as a "Greater Japan" ?

it's exactly because of that isolationism! they allowed minor trading before perry, and usually missionaries were ones who made it through and were able to settle.
they never would have opened up before perry, it just wasn't in the way they lived or thought.
as to the second one, i'm really not sure. having lived there and studied their culture and history for a couple years, i feel like there really was no other course of action they would have taken.
