a Dead Horse Dreaming.
This is for the album i've been working on for 3 years or so that no one's yet heard in its entirety... I don't have any of the songs on here, though i do have a few on my webspace if anyone would like a taste.
The white background works well for a paper version, but the primary design for the album package is to be printed entirely on projector transparencies (plastic sheets) so that everything about the jewel case but the disc itself (and the graphics obviously) will be transparent.
The white is in place of my empty transparency layer, so you can actually see the design :P ...I'm pretty sure the radially-spun blur won't come out good either printed on transparencies, so it will most likely be omitted in that version.
Figured it'd be a nice change to have some crisp graphics in my gallery among all the real media...

I could send you the current version, Version 37.47382 or whatever it'd be up to now :P But it's not really done yet, and i'm still not satisfied.
...some of the vocals are embarassingly crappy, because i haven't re-recorded them yet. Though, aside from that the music is pretty much done aside from tweaking and some final mixing...

You can save the radial blur if you darken it (if done in Photoshop just duplicate the layer and set it to multiply), and the red should be a bit brighter if it's going to be printed. Right now it's fairly deep and will probably make the edge of the skull look less visually crisp 'cause of the similar values.
I made the skull silhouette from photos i took of the one i have in my room.
As far as skulls go, horses' are really wonderfully shaped... i love the design of them.
Of course... i love everything about horses though, and even moreso when they still have life and flesh ontop of the bone. :)

I create electronic music, as well as sing. The music is sort of a progressive type thing, at least the pieces i like best of mine. I draw a lot of inspiration from the progressive of the 70s... but of course it's a lot different without any guitar...
