((After taking the pic, I realized I left the Bad Dragon statue thingy on my desk while taking the picture. For the 'uncensored' version, click here))
So what am I doing? Well, as some of you know, I am the scripter for Kinzart. I also wrote the vendor system for KZK and select others. I've always wanted to jump out of the virtual environment programming and take a step forward to more practical uses in the actual world. While I do know how to write games, I don't have the time to dedicate using my student game developer license for the XBOX. I've also been in an interest to start my own business or at the very least, make a small hobby that can have potential for rewarding itself.
My Arduino Mega is the giant board on the left. I am using it as a ISP for some ATTiny85 chips, in which the blue breadboard with the wires attached is a make-shift programmer for them. The LEDs on it are used for diagnosing issues when transferring programs (green means it is simply on, red means something bad, and yellow means a transfer is in progress). I mostly use the Arduino for initial projects, then see if I can compress them down for ATTiny85 chips, since final stuff would look odd if it had a USB port on it.
The white board on the right with the blue servo next to it is my Eye Blink demo build 2. That is a working prototype that I'm very happy with so far. It operates on 4 AA batteries and uses a jumper to act as a holder for when designers are installing the eyes for the first time. The eyes operate VERY closely to the KZK avatars in timing and actions, and I hope to continue the compatibility. I will soon have build 3 done while I am working on a prototype eye. A small problem I am having with the ATTiny85 is that it makes the servos jitter, which I know the issue is related to clocking issues from the Arduino, but for now, it's not a big concern. Build 3 basically will control power to the servos to maximize battery life while also making the 'jitter' bug near obsolete (since it only happens when I need the servos to remain still).
Hopefully, I will have more update pictures soon on this project as I get stuff done. Right now, college is demanding my time so I want to finish that first then come back to this during winter break.
