I had a lot of fun with this one. I set up a scene in Sketchup for the perspective, traced the model for the torii gate, found a stock photo by Quinn Dombrowski of a stone lantern, traced and modified that, then inked everything and then taxed my machine with the watercolour tools. Really happy with the textures on the stone lantern. Not happy with other aspects of the piece, but rendering watercolors takes forever, Painter kept crashing, and I had a deadline!

Actually, this is a very powerful image. It shows you that I've got cars too much on my mind because I mistakenly thought the lantern was the headlight and bumper of a Monte Carlo that darn near hit the Kitsunie. The Torry gate in the background put it all together for me though.
