Part of my four piece character set. The gem dragons of my world are immortal figures stuck in an endless reincarnation cycle. Volgos is the third Ruby dragon that has existed and is currently the youngest of the four. Each gem dragon is keyed to the four classic elements. They are born without any parents or known purpose, it's up to them to think up their own.

Abilities:

Like all the gem dragons, Volgos is a potent Ether Mage. Capable of controlling the materials of the universe with his power. He is an excellent combat weaver, able to use his movements in melee combat to actively weave several spells at once. While the casting is slow in this format, it's often difficult to tell when and what kind of magic he's going to throw at you next; Not to mention the need to avoid his blade.

In addition to his learned power, because he's an elemental construct his soul is keyed to an element that he can control at-will. Volgos is keyed to Fire. Also because of his elemental traits, Volgos is made of living mineral, making him very resistant to damage. He can regenerate any damage by submerging himself in the element keyed to his soul.

Personality:

Volgos was raised by Kaioso, the Emerald Watcher. As such, he has picked up a fascination with the layers of parallel wolds known as the Mortal Dreams. However, unlike Kaioso who mostly watches, Volgos actually travels the worlds trying to spread his influence in as many places as possible. Volgos has a child-like personality always wanting to impress those around him. His goal in life is to impress his father figure as much as possible and since he's under the assumption Kaioso is always watching, he's always trying to be as impressive as possible.

Volgos treats the dreams like his own personal TV show. Always acting the hero while other people are simply simulations generated by the dreams to entertain him. If you think about it, this is actually quite dangerous. He doesn't think mortals are real or worth anything. The only thing keeping him from treating life like a toddler his toys is his incessant need to play the hero.

Description:

Volgos is a Gem Dragon, one of four total in the entire multiverse. Not much is known about this specific species of elemental dragon. What is known is they are immortal unless killed and reincarnate when they are killed. There is only ever one of each of the four types in existence. Like most dragons, Volgos is born without purpose, so he must make his own. He is the Ruby Crusader; traveling the Mortal Dreams righting wrongs and adventuring adventures. He lives his life to have fun.


Current Story and Goals:


My gem dragons don't have any story and goals (aside from a few apocalypse theories). I think about them when I have nothing else to think about. They're so powerful I could never use them in any kind of game or story. I basically use them as amusing writing tools in my head. Volgos received his red mage costume from Kaioso, whom thinks it might have been a mistake.
