The European dress between the 1500's and 1550's changes frequently, so for the most part I have chosen one 'style' for this dress. The most popular dress in this time span was a square neck, with or without a decorative linen neck lining, with many heavy necklaces. The dresses would turn down to a large waist, with either an exposed petty coat, or just solid silk. The arms on these dresses would be LARGE, with a lot of excess fabric. Furs were often worn over them for fashion. Women in this age wore an excessive amount of rings. On their heads they wore either a French "hood" or a gabled hood (Think of a house on their head.). They also most often wore gertles, which was a adornment that went around the waist that was often decorated.
