This is one of the fish ponds inside the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall in Taipei, Taiwan. There are probably thousands of them in the fish ponds there since the ponds are open for public to "release" their unwanted or overgrown koi. The ponds have been there since the park was completed in 1980 and it started with a few koi and then the population grow with more people releasing their koi there rather than flushing them down the drain or toilet. There are fish food dispensers around the ponds for people to feed the koi. Of course, the park workers will regularly feed the koi as well. Some of the koi have grown quite enormous in size. Koi can live quite long, even rumored or fabled centennial koi.
