Hmm. My 15" Pro's screen gave up the ghost recently (internal signal wiring fault due to repeated flexing over the years, not a dead backlight circuit.) I could do the repair myself, it's just that it's A, time-consuming and touchy, B, the machine's over four years old; C, it's kind of a lemon (it ate logic boards and Superdrives); and D, a replacement display panel is worth more than the computer is.
