The drake's large hand abruptly gripped around the female's hair, yanking her upwards almost to eye level, while the other cupped beneath her frame for support. The large brute quickly stepped forward, pinning his "prey" to the wall; his single, hellfire-colored eye maintained an unyielding stare. The female's tail seemed to coil instinctively in submission along his arm, whimpering in bewildering fear, knowing not of her fate in the dragon's possession. The massive creature leaned forward, allowing his lips to gently press against her ear, whispering, “I shall be with you, wherever you are, guarding you and guiding you. March on, have no fear.”
