Logic tells me I can't control who watches me so it's a dumb thing to worry over.
But, I never claimed to be a logical person.

Stalkiiiing~
I actually recall some kind of sockpuppet-ish accounts hanging around and trying hard to goad you before. Being involved in Artists_Beware would probably net you some unwarranted venom from people who believe they/their friends should be immune to common observation. Not saying that's the case with whoever this is, I'm just doing my Captain Obvious thing. :P

Logic dictates that if you are going to criticize someone, you need to be minimally aware of their doings.
Someone should alert the internet.
Because the amount of criticism I personally see every day, that is based around ignorance, informs me that there are a lot of people out there without a lot of critical thought.
Or I could also site Family Guy and its MANY numerous instances where the writers and staff have professed not even the basest of working knowledge of the subjects they have been critical of. I could name any number of many mainstream news media outlets doing the same.
The ATF, a government funded bureau has repeatedly demonstrated a lack of any kind of basic firearm knowledge. Yet their opinion about firearms holds the weight of legislation. That is, the ATF's opinion, even one based on ignorance, is treated the same as if were a LAW. Examples would include a ruling a few years ago where a SHOESTRING was ruled to be a fully automatic machine gun because of the ATF's opinion.
It would be GREAT if everybody based their opinions and criticisms off of working knowledge. Sadly, in the real world, people don't do this. They form opinions out of ignorance. I'm not defending it. I'm simply pointing out that a lot of people have opinions in ignorance. That's normal. However some people have opinions in ignorance in their field of expertise or they have opinions in ignorance and PROFESS to have knowledge.

Little off base from what I was saying. I didn't say you had to be INFORMED to criticize, you just needed to know that someone (or organization) DID something to criticize it.
Ex: I (in theory) cannot criticize an artists work if I have never seen it.
Granted in theory one could just hear the name technicolorpie and say "man, his artwork sucks" but that kinda pushes jerkdom to levels of "trying too hard".

Apologies about the rant. Pet peeve.
I see a lot of ignorant opinions out there. Ordinary people have ignorant opinions. That doesn't bug me. Ignorance is forgivable given the right circumstances.
But if you're an electrical engineer, and I hear you say, "what's voltage mean?" Those sorts of boners require consideration. Or reprimand.
Or, in the case of the ATF:
Promotion.

Have you seen the ATF letter stating that a fourteen-inch shoelace is a machine gun?

Psh, boy do I know how this goes. Cept I'm the watcher. And the other people try to be asses. XD
At least this comic gives me the impression you don't view yourself as elite or something. XD I've had troubles in the past with... getting... into fights with people because they are popular and thought I owed them some kinda great deal of special treatment. c.c
x3; I've made some terrible enemies. o_o;

As you are aware, I am a total jackass, and I can say that you don't have to like someone to +watch them. There's a few artists on here that when (and I have) met them irl, I would rather be no where near them, they're unlikable, rude and arrogent, but I can learn a lot from their art.
I'm of a similar disposition, where even if I like someone's artwork, I can't shake the feeling that by having them on my watch list, I'm somehow giving their antics my stamp of approval, y'know? This is only compounded by my assumption that the greater someone's artistic talent, the more likely they are to be douchebags. Yeah, I know not everyone with an affinity for eye-candy is an automatic drama-whoring pompous clownboat, but I can't shake the feeling there is a correlation between artistic talent and propensity to be insufferable. Then you get the entire "I don't think I've ever done anything unreasonable, but what if I've actually been an ass?" territory of ever having an arguement here.
In the end, fact doesn't always play a pronounced role in how we feel. The heart can no more run on logic than the mind can run on emotion. What matters is what you do with the impulses. Some use it as excuse to cause little storms of drama. Others use it's nonsensical nature as another excuse to give themselves a reality-check.
Like right now, with my ultimately directionless babbling. I wonder if I should actually post this reply, mostly because I look like a fucking idiot chasing my own tail like this, having gone off on such a tangent that it barely resembles your original sentiment. :P
But what the hell~

You know for me, I've had that happen... But what I usually have is quite the opposite. I always end up watching -crazy- people.
"Oh, wow, nice art! I'm going to watch them!!!"
"... 8 journals a day? All of them crazy? Why did I even watch this person?!"
I have to admit, I try to judge artists here based on if I enjoy looking at their art or not. But I also love to read journals, and to learn more about the people BEHIND the art... And I've unwatched several people because of a constant flow of drama and/or crazy cake.
