Another illustration for
anzel's 2nd book, the Raider's Companion. This time it's his own character, Anzel, illustrating a chapter on why loot isn't actually all an MMO raider is (or at least, should be) after.
This guy took me literally three re-draws and two whole ink jobs before I felt like I had to throw in the towel. I still have a long damn way to go before armor doesn't look like it was made in a hurry with sculpy, but I'll get there. :)

[Continuing armor critique]
In this illustration, the only thing missing is some form of groin armor. (Probably a steel codpiece. <.<)
Buuuttt... such armor was not infrequently discarded or simply disused due to it getting in the way when walking or running. Or riding a horse.

The codpiece is, I believe, somewhere around the first bit that you strap-on and therefore one of the last to come off.
But, yes. I would likely keep to shins and bracers and breastplate. Important stuff what you don't want cut but neither time-consuming to don or doff nor horridly uncomfortable (nor an impediment to free movement). And my sidearm would be close at hand.
