I recently got a hold of the Citadel 'Eavy Metal paint case from Games Workshop and have been playing around with the blending 'medium' you get with it. I can honestly say I don't really want to go back after having used it.
I've been practicing with a model I have been wanting to get right for a while, and this is him. My Grey Knight Grand Master Cerberus. I've been at him for three nights now and these are the results so far (photo was tweaked to get the colour balance as right as I can).
I've tried things with blending and washes I'd never have done before on this model, and so far everything is coming up perfectly. another couple of days and I'll be showing the completed article.
Actually using this guy in a design a character competition. Note me if you want his rules.

yeah I was using those brushes. They have incredibly fine points which is probably more important to me for accuracy when painting. They really are a charm to use.
Good luck with your own painting endeavors, just don't expect to become amazing in a few models worth of painting, it took me 19 years to get this good ;)

The wings are attached just to the sides of the psychic hood and were a mini-conversion I had been thinking about since the metal grey knights came out. the green stuff cloak was easy to do too. just roll out a bit of green stuff flat once mixed then cut it to shape, attach to the model and adjust the position and look with clay shapers and water.
