here's quite a few carriage rides to be had in the French Quarter. I saw plenty of horse drawn carriages and then there was this mule drawn carriage.
This particular equine looked so pitiful. Maybe it's because it was cold or because he was tired and wanted to call it a day. Or maybe it's because he was wearing flowers and all his friends were laughing at him (I'm assuming the mule is a guy otherwise my tepid attempt at a joke doesn't work).
Don't listen to them, Mr. Mule. They're just jealous.
I would like to add that I didn't see a single mule or horse mistreated during my short stay. I would also like to share with you this tragic, yet inspiring story about a horse owner that risked his life to save his steeds during Hurricane Katrina: http://www.banhdc.org/archives/ch-o.....-20050900.html

They have always looked great when Ive gone down there(I live about 100miles away). Now the San Fran ones were usually underweight and I saw them with harness sores on more than one occasion. One driver was even working a horse who had fallen on the roadway and skinned up his stifle joint. They do not keep as close tabs on the horses outside of Golden Gate park as they do the ones inside the park. This horse had been down near the wharfs. Yea I got his carriage number and reported him.
