Greetings this is
slainmonkey and
kyan0 and this is our introductory episode to what will hopefully be a long and enjoyable series about us blabbing about cartoons (a topic we both know a great deal about). This week's episode could possibly be amongst the longest we do because it covers the a very board theme of us discussing cartoons that influenced the artists we have come today. We hope you find our ramblings enjoyable and enlightening.

I can't wait for the next installment.
Perhaps other topics you can discuss may be influences outside of animation. Or maybe a episode tape directly after watching a marathon of movies or a TV show with a common theme... Like watching every Pixar movie or every episode of (insert tv-show here) within a certain period of time and giving your opinions on it. Actually, I apologize. That could potentially be a form of torture.
Anyway, whatever you do, I'm looking forward to it.

For the Intro, Kyan sounded so bored, I thought there was going to be punk metal music blasting right away! (OKay okay, That's what I thought anyway in the beginning!) I didn't expect Paul's voice to be that bright and cheery; I was thinking he was gruff sounding.
I liked you guys talking about this stuff. I'm looking forward to more!
And I see what you mean Paul with facial expression, because that can tell can say many things about the character in how his actions are. So ya I agree the root of all things is the face! (Kinda weird that the human brain is an upside-down root of it all with the Nervous system.)
Suggestions: I think the length shouldn't be so long, even though a podcast is fire and forget. I dunno how long someone could listen to over an hour, because that can get tiring unless you have some sort of break in-between. If ever it was say 3 hrs, that would be split in parts.
As for specific subjects, may-hap you should have a list things to talk. And it doesn't have to be in order, because I'm thinking right now it is free fun and as for the moment.

There certainly was. Now that I did see that Youtube clip, that was dark and a little bit illogical in some ways. I watched that movie some years ago, and certainly that scene did the job for remembering it, but so sudden? Where's the audience here? And yes, I did read in the comments in that yt clip about there being a cut.
Oh wow, this is great! Took a little trip down memory lane with a bunch of those titles you mentioned, as well as recalling some of the crappier cartoons.
Hehe, makes me want to record something like this, I think it's always interesting to hear where an artist's inspiration comes from.
Heheh, "Beetlejuice".... A lot of the jokes/episodes are pretty cringe-worthy, but I still love it. XD
Looking forward to hearing more from you guys!

Oh man it was seriously just the last thing left at the video rental I think! XD
No but i did use to like it.. I guess as a kid you really just don't see how awful and repetitive it is. or maybe it's just comforting then I remember did getting some amusement out of guessing all the (obvious) answers and clues . XD

I can imagine why it would be one of the few things left at the rental place... almost anything has more of a plot than Scooby Doo! I'd almost want to choose something live-action over watching an episode... which is usually blasphemy in my book. hehe I can see why kids are drawn to it though. They have a far higher tolerance for the monotonous... maybe I did really like it, but I am just blocking out those shameful memories? I really don't remember ever liking it though!!
True, but I think it adds to the nostalgic charm. Have you seen the Wuzzles? I didn't quite realize how much inspiration I subconsciously drew from the show until I watched an episode recently. Most of my characters are weird animal hybrids >.> If you have not seen it, I bet you and Paul would enjoy it. It's some good ole mid-80's animation at its finest!

Nifty stuff, I wonder what either of you thought about Freakazoid and the first WB Batman animated series. I loved both of course, but I viewed the Batman animated series as an artistic milestone of the time- They put some decent effects in for dreamy/memory/faded scenes.
