Aww! I used to have a giant story attached to this... but don't know where it went. May have to rewrite it if I can't find the back up.
Regardless... there's inspiration owing to this where it's due! I did a month of reading books on coyotes and remembered a childhood book I grew up with "Coyote Places the Stars", by Harriet Peck Taylor. This is much of where the art style was based off of, and it was so much fun working in this strange style... I wasn't used to it!
Any stories not inspired by Harriet Peck Taylor was from Barry Lopez in his stunning series of short stories viewed in "Giving Birth to Thunder".
This depiction involves two coyotes of different elements "painting" pictures with stars in the sky. Skekiyap decided to be sneaky and load up the bag of stars with eyeballs just so the heavens had something to look down on instead of us always looking up at the sky :)
