A commission for  ShidaKinata. She wanted our characters, Xai the raccoon (me) and Shida the umbreon (hers) being attacked by a snake and rescued by her character Hotaru.

but she didn't like it so i didn't do it again. i'm gad she did too, this one is much better.

i decided to do it in comic style for some reason. i think it's adorable.
in the first pannel, the biggest one, I'm trying to defend Shida from the snake, and hotaru is glaring at it ready to attack since it's going after her friends. the snake is using it's hypnosis on us as it begins to wrap it's tail around us
in the second pannel, you can see that the hypnosis is making my job of defending her not go too smoothly. she's about to be mesmarized too.
then hotaru locks on and punces in for an attack!

i love the targeting thing! it was shida's idea. i origonally was just gonna have hotaru pouncing as the whole pannel there but shida came up with that idea. it looks well done and i like it. the space was just gonna be wasted anyway.

The snake is my favourite breed, mangrove snake. but it's somewhat unloved for some reason. i think they look so cool http://www.nickgarbutt.com/images/d.....ve-Snake_1.jpg
really hard to draw though.
but i've wanted a mangrove snake character for ages! i might make this one into a character.
