After a peroid of listlessness, which I won't bother talking about any further, I finally got inspired enough (music helps, I tell ya).
A good first time, since I mostly keep to simpler, more cartoony doodles. I've made a few attempts at the more realistic/lifelike drawing, but until this it was never any good. Not that I consider this 'good', but well enough that I'm more motivated to continue practice, rather than give up.
It's good practice for controlling both pressure and line length, which as far as I'm concerned, is essential for realism.
For reference, I used the picture on the cover of 'Mind of the Raven' by Bernd Heinrich. If you've into ravens like me, you've probably read it. If not, then get to it, because it gives a lot of insight on raven behaviour.
