Caesium (or Cesium, if you're a vowel-phobic American)!
One gram of the most electropositive element to be collected, safely sealed in a glass ampoule. When you hold the ampoule in your hand, the Caesium melts,
Caesium really likes water. This little bit will never get to meet some, hopefully.
I have some Sodium for making kabooms!

oh man... this stuff is vicious! but alkali metals are amazing^^ messing with them in school and at the uni always was a lot of fun!
one of our teachers back in 11th grade wanted to demonstrate what sodium does when it comes in contact with water... so he got a big basin, filled it with water, added some soap to get rid of the surface tension and then added the sodium. he then went on about how because he added the soap the sodium cant stick to the sides of the basin which means that no big hydrogen cloud will be formed and there will be no explosioBOOOM! XD the whole thing went up before he could finish his sentence^^

Heh. I've done the sodium thing (just some bits of it) with oil on top of the water. That just made hydrogen bubbles (and NaOH). I've also done the whole "throw a chunk of Sodium in a pond thing". I have about a pound of Sodium for just such activities.
I've always been a fan of the Group Is. It's been my life's goal to obtain some caesium ever since I was in Junior High. I finally stumbled on a source for it. (It's too expensive to mix with water, although I an still tempted.) Owning some makes me happy--I used to make fun of people who bought gold or diamond jewelry as spending lots of money for shiny rocks, but now I understand how they can make someone happy.

yeah, oil would probably work better.
but we also added some sodium to ethanol to make sodium ethoxide which we then needed for the rest of the experiment. someone read the instructions wrong and instead of adding the sodium little by little he added the ethanol to the whole chunk... needless to say, his apparatus exploded right in his face :P
but yeah, its funny how things like this can make a person happy^^ its probably because not a lot of people own it and the curiousity about the material itself. its also satisfying to own something that not a lot of people can afford

he also once demonstrated phosphorus. he took it out of the jar, cut it with a knife (which you REALLY shoudlnt do...), cut it again because the piece was too big, placed it on the table and started to talk about it. after a minute it caught on fire and burned a hole in the table :P
