Blah, this is the kind of thing that really grinds my gears. I'll spend a good hour or so in Apophysis, really liking where stuff is going and then when I'm ready to render I'm very happy with what I have and can't wait to see it in its finished high-quality state. So I hit "render" and wait 5 hours. Still optimistic, I start post-processing and it just doesn't go anywhere besides removing some aliasing, then I'm pissed off because I just wasted several hours of my life.
