I just kinda came up with this the first night I was messing around with DADDAD tuning trying to learn "Suite Judy Blue Eyes" I kinda like it. I don't know that I am particularly ecstatic about this recording but i havent uploaded in a while and I found this while I was putting together my christmas CD fo my relatives and friends. If it's good enough for them it's good enough for FA.

Really? I never knew punk bands used this tuning. Then again I don' t listen to punk.
Yes, Richie Havens uses this type of tuning a lot. A good example I think is a song Here comes the sun from Woodstock (I haven' t heard it for a long time, so I'm not sure).
Haven' t heard of Stephen Stills. Will look him up.

Man, I have a guitar permanently tuned to this now and I sit around jamming on old nirvana tunes all the time because it only requires laying your finger down strait across the frets. For the most part punk uses purely 5 Chords because they lack the 3rd that would otherwise give things Minore, Major or a diminished quality and thereby making it stupidly easy to create a harmony. If you don't have to worry about that 3rd you never hit a chord that is out of place. This of corse only aplies if you are only using the method of playing with one finger though :) If you want to you can really do amazing things with this tuning. It have been used by Paul Simon, Nick Drake, Stephen Stills and A whole bunch of other musicians in the 60's folk revival.
