With guest appearance by
kavizx's character, Eclipse! 'Cause I really wanted to include him. So he is included~
This was another Christmas-related art gift thingy, but it was also me wanting to give myself more opportunity to draw scenery and to utilize a very basic pixel style. In the end, I'm very happy with the entire thing, save for one or two very minor gripes that aren't really a bother at all. It's just how things went~
There's a good chance you'll see more like this in the future!
*idly wondering if the thumbnail is gonna be ugly* EDIT: the thumbnail looks great, awesome.

You did a great job with the multiple characters and different poses! Composition wise though, the two ponies in the bottom right scene look strange in term of eyes, and the white one blends a bit too much with the scenery. Blending is nice, but some contrasting colors to the white help the character stand out more rather than become invisible X].
As well, I love the swirly effects on the top season portion, but when you transfer it to the bottom it resembles clouds more than snow.
It's still a damn nice picture, even if I am not much of a fan of mlp. And sorry for the slooow commenting, I have been so busy ; ;

You're not obligated to comment on my stuff :P Nobody is. I just kind of figured that ponies would be popular with, you know, pony people xD But as I said before, I don't think any pony fans watch me.
I do have to agree that the swirls don't look very great in the winter, but honestly, I didn't really consider it at the time. I think I could have probably thought of something more helpful, but after removing most of the flowers, I didn't want the snow to just look plain. I guess I should know that for next time xD Thank you~
As for the blendy ponies, I have to respectfully disagree. One of them is an actual snow scupture, so of course she looks like snow because she is made of snow o: As for the actual living white ponies, I made careful decisions with their outlines. Vinyl in particular has a sharp outline that is supposed to show against the snow, Sweetie less so. Their skin (fur?) is also darker than the snow on the ground. It was all deliberate. I've been doing this for a long time, and I'm busy enough with FA's dark background blending with my grey outlines, so I'm familiar with the issue :c You might have a dark or bright screen contrast that makes it look poor, or something.

Ohhh lmao... Yea. Okay, so I didn't notice one of them was a snow sculpture because the first thing I saw was the yellow eyes (didn't look at the hoof area to see it's actually part of the ground).
The other white ponies in the snow scene look great though, they don't blend in much with the snow because they still have contrasting colors (like you said) that makes them stand out. The pony behind the snow-pony just had some very devious looking eyes is all X]. Thanks for clearing that up!
Just out of curiosity, did you use a reference pic for any of the poses?

Ahh, haha~ I'm sorry xD I am glad you agree, though. I might sometimes insist on what I'm saying, but I always appreciate criticism. I'll still consider this more carefully next time, all the same, so I still thank you for the words regardless :3
I used one reference for the general proportions... the kicking pose was mostly intuition based on a pose that doesn't look identical, and I did use a direct reference for the white pony in the spring season. Mostly I used references for how large or long wings and legs should be, since I wanted to be true to the proportions. Actual positions, there really wasn't much reference help :o
