The other canine-like species from the Azure Wheel Universe. My fictional universe is a furry-friendly one, but not all species are Anthros. Think of it as being as "fur-friendly" as the Star Wars universe.

This may not look like it, but this is actually a first pass drawing for my Denaq species. Usually my first pass drawings are nothing more then sketches and aren't nearly as "completed" as this, but I've already had the specific look for this species in my head. They're essentially space Anubis (Anubi? Would that be the plural of Anubis?) though they evolved from dogs (dobermans to be more specific) that protected the laboratories of the human settlers that tried to terraform their homeworld some 500,000 years back.

Denaq hail from the grassland planet, Aw'vor, and are generally regarded as being the "librarians" or "recordkeepers" of the Azure Wheel Universe as they tend to be very scholarly.

The female is standard black colored while the male is an color mutation. About 10% of Denaq have either white hair or white bodies. Completely white Denaq are very uncommon. The clothing shown here isn't 100% acurate... at least on the male. Males usually wear long, flowing robes... but I was more trying to show the anatomy of the species with this picture.

I haven't decided whether or not this will be an "open" species as they really do play a HUGE role in the Azure Wheel history, which I'll explain as I flesh out the species a bit more. However, if there's enough interest in the species, I may consider making them an open species.
