“What do you want from me?” Min cried in frustration, “I just don’t know anymore... tell me, Raven! Please…”
Raven looked up at the female, deep into her scared tear soaked eyes.
“I want…” he began with an uncertain voice, his eye glancing around the dark room. “I want you to stay with me, here, tonight… tomorrow. I want to be with you… I want you to love me. I need that so badly…”
The Siamese turned her gaze away, rolling off the bed and walking to the window with her face in her paws. There she stood, staring out into the night, crying and holding herself for what seemed like an eternity.
Slowly, Raven got up off the bed himself and walked over to her. He lay his arm gently around her shoulders but she still seemed to shrink away slightly.
“Min?” he asked her softly.
“I don’t…” she stuttered. “I want to, Raven… I want to love you... to take away all the hurt, all the pain… but I can’t.” she said between sobs. “I don’t know you… I can’t really love you if I don’t know who you are…”
She turned to face him. “Is that too much to ask in return for love? To know who you really are?”
Raven swallowed and looked away, fighting his own emotions. Min began to sob again as the male pulled her close against himself. Raven began to rock slowly back and forth, trying to calm the female’s troubled mind. Minutes passed as they just stood there in each others arms. Min managed to gain control of her sobbing and found she was strangely content being held as she was. She pressed her ear against the male’s chest and listened to the slow rhythm of his heart and closed her eyes.
She felt Raven look at her. She felt his mind clear as doors never meant to be opened again were unlocked.
The male took a deep cleansing breathe and began.
“My name is Ciardha…”
