Well here is the first official start to the 'John's Fox' series. Let me know what you think.
John’s Fox Chapter One
Well the day that I found him I had a particularly difficult day, I just finished having a fight with my parents and really wanted to get out of the house. I knew that Kell (the houseguard) would be busy guarding my dad since this is his first visit in months, so I decided to head out into the woods. It was quite, as usual, I was thinking about how the woods seemed to accept me. When I first went into the woods I noticed that not many of the animals would even come near me, they would all run away, but as time went on I noticed that the animals would get closer and closer to me. I even touched a bird once! That, was one of the happiest days of my life, I remember how the bird seemed so energetic, so…so… so alive. I still remember that day with happiness in my heart. Anyways I was walking through the forest when I saw a crow, this wasn’t too unusual but I wanted to follow it, don’t know why, but I did. I followed the crow for a few seconds when I saw him, he was lying there, jaw partly open, matted fur, and a bloody wound near its stomach. I was horrified, I’ve always loved animals and it was just shocking to see one lying dead, or so I thought at the time. I sat there on the brink of tears when I saw the body rise and fall, I noticed that its tongue was slightly moving back and forth, I came to the realization that it was still alive! I quickly took off my coat, wrapped that fox in it, and ran home. I didn’t go to my parents, I knew that would be a huge disaster, I instead ran to the clubhouse my parents built me when I was 10. The clubhouse is the size of a room, 30X40 feet in my house, and had all sorts of games, a small bathroom, and most importantly for right now: a first aid kit. I still used the clubhouse from time to time but only because I installed an internet connection and have a computer there. When I got close I started to pick up my pace, I kicked the door open and rushed inside. I gently laid down the fox, who was still unconscious, grabbed the first aid kit from the corner, and got to work on the poor fox. I was grateful that my dad forced me to take first aid lessons now, otherwise that fox would’ve been dead, I started to clean the wound, I noticed a shining thing in it, I carefully took it out and I discovered it was a bullet. Now I don’t mind hunters, they sometimes do keep population in check, but shooting an animal and leaving it to die in such a manner was absolutely horrible in my opinion. I threw the bullet away in disgust and started to bandage the wound. I didn’t know if I missed anything else but I knew that I would need to change the bandages soon if I wanted to keep them sterile. I don’t know how I would be able to do that, it’s a wild fox who nearly just died with its first encounter with a human and I suspected it wouldn’t be too friendly. I took a good long look at the fox and admired how beautiful it was. The fur was starting to thicken and it looked very graceful even when unconscious, I thought to myself that I wouldn’t mind doing all this work if I got to pet him at least once.
I got my wish that night.
