Here's a tip, instead of the burn tool make a new layer above your flats and choose a dark color (blue for a cooler light source, or red/orange for a warmer), lower the opacity to about 30-40% and use that to shade :3 It comes out much cleaner and you don't get the weird colors when you burn or dodge certain colors like yellows and greens. x3

I'm all for giving people tips on digital ^^ I have a hard time with traditional because I lack the canvas space to do detail, and the money to buy supplies. x3
How 'bout the other way around? I can stream and show you tips n stuff and you can ask questions? x3 I'm better at showing than explaining, especially with tools n stuff with sai and photoshop since it can get confusing. xD

I've used photoshop longer than SAI, and i still go back to it for a lot of things like flat colors, sometimes shading, glow effects, etc. I mostly use Sai for the watercolor tool and lineart~
A lot of it is experimental, but there's so much hidden in photoshop that takes years to find sometimes. XD I've been using it since like, Photoshop 7....and we're now on CS6 soon I think. (Though I'm only at CS5). (It went PS7- 9 - CS- CS2 - CS3 - CS4 - CS5 - CS6) XD
