The Christmas Spirit by Hush-A-Bye.
- GIFT ART -
Seque wasn't the type to celebrate much. Usually his job came first. This meant a rather 9-5 life yes but it was how he liked it most of the time. The Husky had honestly forgotten just when his birthday was exactly. That isn't to say he forgot the important stuff in regards to his close friends, no. He always remembered when their birthdays were and he joined in with all the celebrations and what-not but to him, he never really felt "the mood" of the big occasions. He hadn't celebrated his birthday in almost 10 years and that wasn't going to change any time soon.
However, he couldn't control those same friends from springing surprises on him from time to time either. One such time is seen here. The Husky and Mouse together, alone for a brief moment before Seque rushes off to do what he does best.
Aijax had decided to organise this with no more reason other than to do something nice for his Husky. After all, Seque had done so much for him that it was only fair such generosity would be repaid every once in a while. So with an utmost determination, the Mouse set to work. While cleaning and maintaining Seque's literal flag-ship, Aijax decorated the top floor, the bridge and the bedroom. Christmas was soon going to be happily presented for Seque. With the decoration finished, the Mouse retreated to one of the ship's kitchens in the lower bowels of the ship where he knew he would not be disturbed. The little Mouse feverishly whipped up a nice fruit pie, some cookies and a couple of mugs of hot chocolate. It was backbreaking work, but he knew it would be worth it.
Aijax's assumption was spot on as Seque couldn't believe his eyes when he saw what the Mouse had done for them. It didn't take long for the two to wind up in the bedroom, sitting on the floor, toasting the spirit of the holidays.
After all...
It isn't what's under the tree, it's the people around it that matters most.
I kind of stole that last line from a Jack Daniels Christmas advert. Hehe. But I like it and it really does ring true especially in this picture!
My bro of bros
purchased this for me and managed to keep it hidden until showing it to me a couple of days ago. Naturally I loved it. I think the style, the warmth, the poses and the feel of the piece is just wonderful. It evokes the Christmas spirit in me which is just an added little bonus really! But for this and for so many more reasons, I love you bro, Happy Christmas!
Have a safe Holiday season to the rest of you!
Enjoy!
