Cruger commission - S.P.D. Emergency!
Dammit, I used up all my dog jokes on my FBA collab piece!
Anyway, here we have Space Patrol Delta's own Anubis Doggie Cruger. His big animatronic head tickles me so.
Speaking of, in my travels for good reference, I stumbled upon the blog of the sculptor who worked in the Power Rangers monster shop during the SPD production. Have a look, if you're into that sort of thing! http://barnyardfx.blogspot.com/2009.....pd-part-1.html

Thanks very much. :) I actually found the blog of his sculptor/designer while poking around for refs, and there are a lot of great photos of his head sculpt, including the inside of the mouth (where the textured tongue comes in). I linked to it in the description if that's something you'd be interested in checking out.
More like, I liked the little drama we got from thinking through the whole season that he was a widow. We knew he was, they just never rubbed it on our faces, and hinted at a Doggie/Kat thing, and I was enjoying it all, and then that thing shows up at the end and ruins everything...
Really, it seemed rather predictable that Doggie and his wife would be reunited by the end of the show . At least, I think so.
Plus the one who did the costumes did convince the writer to make sure she gets more airtime at the end, so he's kind of to blame. I personally don't see the big deal. I mean, she's not that bad looking (although I'm sure her appearance would've been rough-looking, especially being held captive). I kind of don't see the major beef about it. But then again, it's been years since I've seen SPD, so I dunno.
I kind of liked the fact he is married and made it his mission to make sure she's alive, but then again...yeah. The whole Doggie/Kat thing kept being hinted as the series progressed, and I thought she was going to confess but get rejected or something. Although, I...think she knew that his wife was alive (or he knew she was alive), so she never made an attempt to say anything. ...I think. *shrug*
Either way, I still did enjoy the series from start to finish. Would be great if he did reappear in the later seasons.

Really? Hm...my memories of the show is fuzzier than I thought. I was sure Doggie at least had a little faith and believed she was still alive, but captured. ...Well, like I said, been years since I've seen the show, so I only remember a few things. My bad. ^^;
Still, I don't think it's as bad as you say, but hey, everyone has different opinions/taste. ^^
(I guess the person who designed the costumes didn't want it seemed like his work on her design wasn't a waste if all they were going to do is just throw hints and barely give her any time on TV. I can kind of understand that.)

Gah, I read that wrong. Well, I never really watched much of the Japanese version of the series (or any live action show in Japan), due to my curiosity appearing when my interest in the series beginning to drop. But I'm guessing Gokaiger is a newer version that hasn't appeared in the west yet? Well, it would be nice to see him on TV once more. If not, well...oh well. ^^
Hmm...so we're talking about Power Rangers Samurai in the west, if I'm right. Admittedly, it's what got me back into watching the show, but I missed out on some episodes, due to my constantly forgetting what time it comes on. I'll probably make it up though. Looking at Wikipedia, the last episode was on December 10th, so is that it? So...I'm guessing Doggie probably won't be coming back in this version, or are they on hiatus or something?
Oh, I forgot Samurai is lasting two years instead of one. Nope. I'm not talking about Samurai. Gokaiger is the seen thats about two seasons after Samurai in the west. Afyer Samurai there is a heavem themed season and then Gokaiger's season which is a pirate motif. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0jb.....eature=related They are a power ranger group that can transform into previous super sentai teams due to special keys. Doggie makes a appearance sense throughout the series they meet and deal with previous rangers.
Oh, man, thats really great! You really got the details right, it looks just like him!
Never was a fan of the shows, though, not any of the PR series though I did see SPD a few times and found them to be allright. Corny as hell on most occassions, the 'drama' shown pretty silly and the humor was a tad on the insulting side, but it was okay, I guess XD

As a huge tokusatsu fan, as far as PR and its Super Sentai counterpart go, I have trouble picking which Anubis Cruger I liked most. Both are badass, especially his appearance in a recent japanese season (Yep, if its adapted for america, we will not see the last of kruger, apparently.) So, yeah, he's coming back.
Very awesome, very well done. I remember when I caught Doggie/Anubis while flipping through channels (we had Toon Disney or whatever had Jetix at the time). Ugh, absolutely fell in love with how he looked. And that link is awesome too, always cool to see in progress work like that. And some good reference really.
I wish we'd get a good figure of this version of Doggie, hah, I've got the US figure and 12", they just don't stack up.

I know it's usually the other way around, but I've always thought Doggie looks a lot better than his Japanese Super Sentai counterpart... I actually really liked the american SPD series... Ive seen all the episodes, some more than once, and enjoyed them... Havent seen much of Dekaranger though
