Erm...I don't think it's a red-tailed. Looks like a sharp-shinned. Very cool shot though.

Could be a Cooper's as well. Those two look way too similar.XP We get a Cooper's in our yard in the spring, he's terribly bold.

The banding on the breast is more reminiscent of a Cooper's than a sharp shinned, in my opinion, but I agree it may be either one. :>

That is actually a Cooper's hawk; probably a juvenile. It's quite a charming looking bird, indeed. :>

We have one that terrorizes the army of sparrows that live in my front feeder. You always know when the hawk is around as the sparrow group will suddenly dive into the front hedges and refuse to move. Damn near impossible to get a picture as the hawk is busy running in circles around the hedge trying to get one of the sparrows to make a run for it.

Is hilarious to watch the cat and mouse game between the two :D
