During MWFF 2010, I saw a bear fursuiter sporting a rather long scarf. The pun came to me immediately -- Doctor Pooh / Who Bear. He lives in the Hundred Acre TARDIS under the name of "Police Box" which means he had the name over the door in gold letters, and he lived under it.

 rabbi-tom was the only artist I felt would do justice to this odd juxtaposition of character, and as you can see above, I was not disappointed. Getting the reference was a chore (taking almost a year), and along the way I dropped the idea of having other characters show up as stand-ins for various companions:
* Rabbit as The Brigadier
* Eeyore as K-9 (he's already on all fours)
* Kanga as Leela (especially if based off  tegerio's Kangy)
* Piglet as Sarah Jane Smith
* Tigger as Jamie McCrimmon?

Well,  rabbi-tom went one better and had Rabbit show up as Dr. Watson!

Dr. Watson/Rabbit: "And you call yourself a doctor! Mr. Holmes shall hear of this!
Doctor Pooh/Who Bear: "Oh bother!"
