"Merry Christmas?"

Those were the words I said to my mate,  PokerDog, 15 minutes past midnight on Christmas Day five years ago. I had just gotten out of really bad relationship; tossed out into the cold. Poker would stay up with me until 2-3am every night making sure I got to sleep. When the idea of us being in a relationship came up, I would tell him I wasn't ready and wouldn't be for a long time. He waited. A long time turned out to only be a few short months. He won my heart, but it would still take him a year to gain my trust. Thank you dear for never giving up on me. Happy Anniversary. It feels good to finally spend an anniversary with you.
