This is a good friend of mine's donkey, Aries.
She is one of the cutest donkey girl's I've seen, and this photo was taken as a Christmas gift back in October.
I can post it now because I'm pretty sure he has it.
I had to fix some of her hair in photoshop as it was sticking off her mane a bit, but aside from that foggy photchop mark I love how this pic came out.
We had to get my lighting in, set up, backdrop up and take the photo before we were caught, just got the lighting up and her owner came down and said "Oh cool a photo shoot? I wont bother you guys" and went upstairs lol he had no idea we were taking shots of his donkey.
Anyway, here she is!

lol thanks, I just kind of cloned the background, looking at it here I notice it because its like a white haze where her little sprigs of hair were standing up, I would have left them but they casted a weird shadow behind her from the fill light, up and to the left, like some kind of monster was lurking behind her, or a muppet lol
I know many donkeys and I have never met one that I didn't like lol.
The first donkey I hung around with was absolutely loveable, huggy and cuddly, she loved to put her head over your shoulder and pull you in for a hug whenever you didnt pay enough attention to her.
She just wanted you to be THERE with her all the time, petting and cuddling her.
Her owner died and she moved away somewhere I never found out.
But oh my god she was the softest, cleanest, most amazing and fun donkey ever, she would buck her head and run in circles when I would come around to visit, and get all excited and make noises and come up to me almost knocking me over with her body trying to get me as close as she could and make me pet her lol
I miss her tons, and when I go over my friends house who has a couple donkeys I really wanna just hang out with them all day, but like I can't cuse Aries here is cool but she is no where near as friendly to me as I am to her lol, she lets me pet her that's about it but the horse that's in with her tends to shoo her away and so dose the mini donkey, so they hog all the attention and I feel bad lol
But shes awesome none the less ^_^

I had more time to set up the lighting with this one.
I used two Normal LH500 light heads and one LH500+ head on a Norman 808m box, a Canon Rebel EOS XT with a crappy Tamron 48-80mm, two home made gold toning reflectors on the hair light for warmth, hair light bounced off them from 10 ft away, umbrella soft box on the fill light and one on the main light to evenly light it, about 8 ft from subject, and the subject wanted no part of it.
^_^
Set up time about 10 minutes to get it perfect, friggin donkey time 1.5 minutes before she wanted to just walk off set and leave.

Yesterday the sanctuary lost a great friend and companion, a beautiful special donkey who loved and was beloved by so many, people and ponies alike. RIP sweet Aries. Your presence may be gone but your stardust shines bright in our hearts forever.
