I've been wanting to do this for so long, I can't even tell you - sometimes, all it takes is my building up a bit of confidence to ask artists if I can do something terrible to their characters! In this scene, Melissa and Clarissa appear on Rossi's infamous weekend chat show... I can imagine that they're two guests that he, too, would be very keen to have :)
Vote in the comments or via notes for which of these two mice you want to see gunged - I did this a bit late to be in time for Christmas, but I'll total up the results and write the outcome soon into the new year.

It's difficult to pin down his influences and I only vaguely know of the latter two you mentioned, but I think that he was influenced by the American late night chat show hosts, with a dose of more British self-deprecation :) In particular I love that habit that some programmes have of just leaving their mistakes in, and Rossi's constant surprise at his own design team - half of this really is 'unscripted', as events and actions just seems to come to life once I get going...
