Theron and Luthien Bookmarks
Giftie bookmarks for two awesome people, theronblackthorn and luthiennightwolf. Luthien had told me she liked my bookmarks, and I told her I'd like to do a couple for her and Theron. So, these were her ideas...Theron as the greatest badass in all of sci-fi/fantasy, Darth Vader, and her character as...well...her charming Elvish self. I wanted to put them both in a similar pose but try to change the body language completely...if that makes any sense. Anyways, I think they turned out cute. Hope you like them, Theron and Luthien!
Done with copic markers, micron inks, india ink, and gel pen on bristol board. Other materials used are laminate, metal grommets, and tassels.

These are so gorgeous! I'm kind of a nerd about Darth Vader, and Theron really does some snarly justice to him here. I love the red lighting on his. I also really love the design of Luthien's dress and the details in the patterns. Her wings are really cool! I definitely see what you mean about similar poses but completely different body language. Theron is fierce and unyielding, Luthien looks more inviting and coy. Very awesome contrast :D I wish I could get the same kind of effect with my work. I should probably do more bookmarks, haha.
It was all kinds of fun drawing a mean lookin' Vader scene. I'M GOING TO FIST FUCK THIS GALAXY WITH MY BADASSERY, OKAY? OKAY! I'm glad folks seem to like the same basic positioning but with entirely different attitudes thing. It was definitely a different and fun way to do couples bookmarks. And, yes, bookmarks are fun! You SHOULD do them!
Awww, thanks, Selunca! I'm glad you like it! I don't think I'm very good at drawing dresses *gah I'm a total tomboy*, but I'm trying! And, girl, if you ever want a commission, I'd love to do one for you, but I'd trade for a piece of your work anytime as well.
I feel that I have offended, if I have an anyway I apologize. I only thought we were being geeky. And yes understand that there is much more in the lore than the films, in fact I am waiting on the Darth Bane trilogy that I bought on ebay to get here. Also right now I am studying 4000 bby, mostly Exar Kun. *Holds out hand* Truce?
Not offended at all! *Shakes hand anyways.* Ah, Exar Kun...that's where a lot of the -real- fun begins, at least for me. Though the earlier battles between Ludo Kressh and Naga Sadow shouldn't be passed up...their conflicts basically set the stage for everything to come from then on until thousands of years later when Bane really gets things going from 1000 BBY forward. I'm not really a big fan of the Sith following Bane and the Rule of Two. The period from 5,000 BBY - 3,563 BBY is my favorite...ah, the Old Republic era...why couldn't they have made some movies about that?
