Too bad Sega STILL was cheap in the re-release of Sonic CD for PS3 and XBLA, they included the original japanese intro and outro but its only instrumental.

I could never beat the game nor never got close to Metal Sonic.

To be totally fair, from what I understand is they just flat out didn't have the rights anymore to the song, and they actually did make a honest attempt to get You can do anything in the game.

Doesn't fully effect me though as I think Sonic Boom is a million times better, but eh :v.

Cheap? They secured the rights to the US soundtrack at the eleventh hour surprising everyone. It was originally supposed to just be released with the JP soundtrack, and the licensing issue with the main themes was explained early on. I'm personally ecstatic to be able to play the game with the amazing original soundtrack in addition to being able to select the US version.

Also I'm not sure I'd go around admitting to not being able to finish the game...if you disregard the time travel stuff and just go straight through it this is possibly the easiest sonic game :X

I've played the original before and I like the new ports. Rather than a straight emulation of the Sega CD they extended the the screen to fit a 16:9 ratio, the special stage now plays in full 60 FPS rather than 10 or 15 of the original, the intro and outro sequences where remastered in HD instead of being put in a border and the colors reduced, but best of all is the fact that you can play with both US and JP soundtracks!

I'll agree though that it sucks they could only use an instrumental of "Sonic - You Can Do Anything" and "Cosmic Eternity - Believe in Yourself" instead of the originals. Something to do with the guy who wrote the lyrics passing or something like that. >.< Guess no one else could license it?

Still, it's awesome that it's the original game enhanced and in a good way too!
