Crematogaster sp.
Also known as the Acrobat Ant.
I found a trail of tiny ants running across my fence. They were all very fast moving, but this one was slow. She appears to be carrying the leg of some hapless insect. The other ants were moving much faster, but all seemed to stop as they passed her, almost as if to see if she needed help.

Acrobat ant?! Those aren't the ones that can click joints and spring like fleas are they?
*shivers* Bad enough when ants outnumber us, fly, keep secrets beneath the earth and everything, but when they can move like a flea - its time to sell the house!
*actually, though, the jumping ants are South American I think?*
Why are these called Acrobat Ants, do you know?

I was stung just below the eye by a bee or wasp. Not sure exactly what it was as it was too close for me to focus on. :P
I've been stung so many times, it just doesn't bother me any more really. It hurts, but I don't have any allergies.
Are you just allergic to ants or do all hymenoptera cause problems?
