Miltank is an awesome Pokemon and I really like the stance she has here, quite heroic like, hah.

I agree with all your reasons. Among normal-types, she's in my top five at least.

Half the pokemon I really like are normal types. Why are the adorable ones so often normal type? XD

I suspect it's because Game Freak's creature concept developers have been instructed to prioritize creating new concept mons that are either A) the pokequivalent of something in nature, or B) cute and marketable, and not mons designed to add to or alter existing gameplay mechanics or strategies.

Which is why the water types outnumber electric types three times over. If they go in saying "take inspiration from nature" or "make something cute" instead of "make X number of fire types," chances are most of what they come up with is going to wind up being a normal, flying or water type.
