Aw,that's adorable. I was always fascinated by caterpillars when I was little and it was endless fun to pick one up and let them crawl around on my hands and arms. When they didn't just curl up into a defensive ball, at least. I love how well you've captured that same sense of childish wonder here.

Same thing when I was younger. We had bushes near a fence at school and you wouldn't believe the amount of caterpillars you would find there! People would collect them, especially once girl in class. Though I was always sad for them. Unfortunately though, as is happening everywhere, the number decreased where they're barely was any any more.

They're was also a "lady bug tree". That too, had barely any after a while.

That's a shame. I loved catching caterpillars and lightning bugs, when they were out. But I always let them go again. As neat as they were, it always seemed wrong to me to keep them in jars or something. Maybe that's what comes of being raised on a farm, though, I don't know.

I used to keep them sometimes, very rarely. But 20 ish at a time, or more, is sad.

This is so adorable. I would watch these fuzzy caterpillars in my grandparents backyard to see what they did. I never picked them up. I was always to afraid of them.

Aww! When I was little my thing was pill bugs, or as I called 'em, "rolly pollies" (I really don't know how you'd spell that). I used to let them curl up into a ball and hold them until they opened, 'cause I thought I was taking care of them, haha

Yeah, I lived in Florida when I was little, of course I didn't know that but I preferred pills bugs lol

It was hard to find caterpillars around here, so I liked snails and pill bugs. Snails were my pets and I'd take them for a walk in they're buckets :P I also LOVED, still do, inch worms. I think I remember they're moth caterpillars, they just move so funny lol

Awww, I loved those, too! I used to keep em in the house for a while until my mom got mad lol I kept bringing leaves and such for them to 'eat'
