I've always liked this Equestroid from the cheesy 80s Filmation cartoon Bravestarr. I actually colored something for a change! For folks that are heading to FA United, I did this the night before. :)

Oh, I know! I have a habit of looking these things up on YouTube when i feel nostalgic, and when i posted a list of them in a journal-- with some commentary --it sparked a conversation about how, with all the anthropomorphized animals, science fiction, and fantasy, it's no wonder so many in this generation turned out the way we did. Not to mention the sheer homoeroticism of He-Man.
been so long since I saw this show, but you made me go look for it.

Found this in a search a while back, and even though it's years old, I'd like to weigh in on the nostalgia!
Fun fact: A Thirty/thirty is a .30 cal rifle whose shells are loaded with 30 grains of smokeless powder. Probably the weapon that inspired the look of Sarah Jane.
I LOVE how these two met in the pilot movie.
For those who haven't seen, Bravestarr's mentor, the Shaman, sent him into the mountains to get "a great weapon, one you can trust with your life". He visited the monument of Thirty/thirty's race, long departed from New Texas, and found him in horse form, and his Sarah Jane. Bravestarr intitially dismissed Thirty/thirty as just a lost steed, and tried to take the gun. THEN Thirty/thirty started a fight with him in anthro form. When Bravestarr realized Sarah JAne belonged to him, once he knocked over his opponent long enough to explain, he promised to leave in peace, empty-handed. However, Thirty/thirty "Never lost a fight and [he didn't ] intend to lose this one!" Their brawl started a cave-in from which Bravestarr rescued Thirty/thirty. From then on, after exchanging one last blow and a hearty handshake, Shaman revealed that their friendship was the weapon Bravestarr was sent for, all along.
Corny, but fun. :D

This is a great summary of the pilot episode of Bravestarr, which was pretty much the highlight of the entire series. Thanks for the nostalgia trip into the series and into the headspace I had back when I drew this! The internet is full of great fan art of 30/30 and I'm glad I got to add my little piece to it.
I agree, the first episode was the best, even when it recycled footage from the intro theme sequence for action scenes. Scheimer's studio Filmation (makers of He-Man and She-Ra!) was infamous for reusing footage, as much as any superhero anime. Doesn't make it a bad show though! It might've lasted longer, if the toy rollout had timed better with the series that was supporting it. The Youtube channel "Toy Galaxy" has a lot of interesting information on this.
