for christmas I got a "new" camera
it's nearly 50 years old and fully mechanical (no battery at all) - which also means no exposure meter. It is an Edixa Mat-Reflex D-L ... maybe no one knows "Edixa" ... it an old Germany company that existed until beginning of the 70's ... it can do exposure times between 9sec and 1/1000sec fully mechanical - impressive ... The lens is a Schneider Kreuznach Xenar 50/2.8
I will use it 99% with black and white negative films where I can do the development myself ...

I've needed a mechanical film SLR for the longest time. I have a Minolta from '84 that's got a shutter sync problem because of it's dependency on batteries. x.x I don't mean sync to the flash, either. I mean the shutter'll only move enough to expose half a frame, and the rest will be blank frame. O_o
