I tried to keep all of what her mane style was in the original design, but make it look like it belongs in MLP:FiM.

I am very happy with it.

I had an idea of a fanfic where her lack of a presence in the show was a major plot point, the Mane Six gradually discovering all kinds of clues that they had, until recently, had another friend who none of them could remember for some reason. I never got to the point of deciding exactly WHY she wasn't around any more.

I was actually into MLP as a kid back int the 80s, so it's amusing to me to see the new fandom, not to mention the wonderfully superior quality of the current cartoon.

I've never been a fan of Ditzy/Derpy as a companion. But, if you want to make the proper reference, yes. Dragging The Doctor into it.

The furthest i ever got with it was jotting down a few words of a scene, and a notion of incorporating other ponies that haven't yet shown up in the current generation, possibly also including other types of magical/mythical horses.

There was also Starsong, but Twilight Sparkle looks almost like her.

The story was going to be a multi-part one, starting with a more light-hearted bit titled "Not Quite BFFs" where Twilight Sparkle is instructed by Princess Celestia to make friends with ponies other than her five best friends, because really one can't get very far only being friendly to a very small group of people all the time. There would have been frequent hints of something being off in Ponyville, though. Little, mostly subtle things like murals which had been painted with great care, though nobody could seem to recall who painted them, and this bit from the little bit i actually got around to writing:

As Twilight Sparkle cantered out of the room and released her telekinetic hold on it, the scroll gently fell to the ground and settled in front of Spike. Reaching to pick it up to put it away, he paused as a single dark spot on the paper vellum caught his eye. The thick, expensive material of the scroll-- standard for messages from the Princess, more likely due to the insistence of her attendants than her own personal tastes --was marred by a thick, uneven rectangle of ink, just large enough to be recognized as an attempt to blot out an error.

"Huh, weird," mumbled Spike as he picked up the scroll, "never saw Princess Celestia make a typo. Oh well!"

Rolling up the scroll, Spike filed it away with numerous others, and returned to the kitchen, his unfinished sandwich on his mind.

Huh, sounds pretty interesting.

Obviosly I CAN read, I just have little interest in reading.

haha, if i did, it would be under a different pseudonym and be PG-13 at the worst. I tend not to clop to ponies (i prefer more anthropomorphic types). It might hint at such things for humor's sake.

Well, I'm not much of a story corrector but I do love to read things I find to my loving.

This is great, because it fits in very well with a friend's story that incorporates G3 into G4.

Do you speak of Number36 or someone else?

Someone else. My friend Kipakuta wrote a story called Fragile Diamonds as a kind of alternate prequel to Friendship is Magic to incorporate G3 ponies into FiM. It's only on FiMFiction but is pretty good.
