I felt I should start with something positive to ring in the new year, so here’s a piece of personal art that summarizes all the promise that 2012 holds for me. The song that this is based on is kinda my personal anthem for the coming year.

I’ve been feeling very caged for a long time. Well, this year is all about flying free. I have a lot of amazing things to look forward to, and I know its gonna be a great year. I’ll be turning 30 on January 28th, and rather than sit and lament about getting older, I’m choosing to view this age as a milestone – I’m reaching the height of my potential and things are just going to keep getting better for me.
2011 has been good to me – Theron and I got our own place at last, I made some new friends who I hold very dear to my heart, and I feel I’m finally starting to gather a real following within the fandom, which means a lot of good things for my art.
So cheers to 2012: to finding our wings, to blooming brightly and to finding love, inspiration and freedom. May it be all you wish and more!

I think this MIGHT be your best piece, girl! I love the carefree and happy feeling I get just from looking at it! Her expression is so unburdened and optimistic. It really is a great piece to go with this time of year. Love all the light and pastel colors against the bright and bold colors of the roses...god you draw the prettiest FLOWERS! And Luthien herself is just gorgeous. All the detail on those WINGS! Oh my God...

As for the picutre present, I can honestly say that I've seen way more hyped works, touted for their symbolism and beauty, that didn't do nearly as much for me as you do here =) Might admittedly be my fixation with furs and SWEET artwork =p But meh, that doesn't mean this ain't a piece of work worthy to be displayed more openly x3 At least in my opinion =)
