Simple ones like back in the day....Tom and Jerry Loony toons...stylistically very simple toons to draw and honestly some of the best ever drawn...
you could get some ideas by playing with the style of art crossing them a bit with other toonie artists messing around with lines postures emotions...all based on simple shapes...
heh...i know i don't draw, hell i couldn't to save my life....but i love the art and the art of animation...just some ideas...

This style works, and you pulled it off quite well. It's simple enough that it doesn't look labored, yet detailed enough to look convincing (and fool people whose eyes are used to simpler art into thinking that it's a very "realistically detailed" drawing.) You've trimmed it down to the essentials, but most viewers think you drew more than you actually did.
Of course, being able to analyze it doesn't mean I can DO it, myself. I'm totally envious of your ability.
