There is some one on here (who's name I can't remember right now) who did this awesome voice over fan thing tht reminds me of your comic. I think if you look up Dr. Whooves you will find her. I bet you could draw a comic with the lines she and her friend used. It was terribly funny, as is yours and I think you two should meet xp!
Ahh, the QLT! I recall the impressive close-up photos they took of the Mare in the Moon. Y'know, back when there still was a Mare in the Moon. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm glad Princess Luna is back, but it's still taking me some time to get used to seeing a clear moon.
Obviously the real reason there is such a focus on astronomy in Equestria is because Lauren Faust is fond of the subject (cf. "Milky Way and the Galaxy Girls"), but my take on the in-world explanation is that Celestia, who completely understood why her sister went mad with envy, has been steadily using her influence to ensure that Luna would return to a world with a deep appreciation of the night sky.
