I feel like a hack after looking at this and realizing how many of these look nearly identical to each other XD Didn't grow much as an artist this year, but the point was to nail down designs of Cyborcats characters and streamline the process as much as possible, and I got a good start in achieving that goal.
.
January - Took a break from Cyborcats and redesigned a character from an old comic idea--I generally like how he turned out, and it was nice getting back into the SnakeMan mindset again for a little while.
February-March - Was already partway through redesigning the characters, tho in a more casual way. That Diana one was drawn the previous year and I just didn't color it until February, but I didn't want to leave any blank spots.
April - Somewhat botched attempt starting the character sheets ... but it's still art that was upload-worthy, so yay, at least I posted something that month =P (and see how Camma's belt used to be higher?)
May-October - Character sheets started off with a bang with Jessica's ultra-detailed dragon outfit. Cheated a little since Sylvia was done in early July and Isis was done in mid-July, but again, I didn't wanna leave any blank spots.
November - Thought it'd be a good idea to occasionally do quick(ish) pencil drawings of these characters and color them in Photoshop--this Isis one was done in one day. Have only done one other so far, but it's an idea I'm definitely gonna continue with.
December - Camma is finally done. Still don't like that I had to change the belt. Fuck you, Camma =P
.
Tho it may not show, I do think I managed to refine my technique a little. Compare the shading on Jessica's boots to the shading on Sylvia's boots--not that you can tell here--since they're similar colors, and I was trying to go for the same effect, and clearly I had a better idea of what I was doing when I got to Sylvia. I also made it a point to not be lazy with capes and hair once I got to the character sheets (compare both Dianas to each other).
Hopefully I won't have to be doing this TOO much longer so I'll be able to experiment more rather than doing the same type of drawing over and over.
Here's to hoping for better and more stuff in 2012!
