so let me begin the big comment i promised you lol.

my friend came over showing me a bunch of Matthew Gray Gubler stuff and asked me to draw him and let me tell you : i had no idea he was so strange. he gained like....five levels of awesome in my world. he was cool before because i watch criminal minds and all that fun jazz but i never cared to look him up outside of that. never really gave him a second thought.

well Brandog came over and showed me his website and it's like i stepped into Tim Burton's head. seriously. http://www.matthewgraygubler.com/ try to look at everything. or just sit around and listen to the noises i don't care lol. he has some drawings on his twitter or tumblr (i'm not sure which) and i think the website that resemble Tim Burton's style a lot. kind of stringy & sketchy, not really planned out looking and just really really strange. i've always been a fan of Tim Burton, especially his artwork, and all the weirdness that comes with him and when i see some of the stuff mr. Gubler does outside of movies i can't help but get kind of excited to see another person like him.

so i used kind of a Tim Burtonish style here. whenever i was flipping through his pictures i couldn't help but feel a Burtonish vibe and knew i wanted to do it in his kind of style. i use the same style you see in the picture in my sketchbook a lot and have a lot of fun drawing friends and just random people like that. i've kind of adopted Tim's style and fiddled with it into my own comfort zone. so that's what you see here. hopefully i'll get to start showing you guys more pictures like this in the future, but for the time being i think it's going to stay in the sketchbook.
