So yeah, one of these memes. XD I've been doing them for years, though it seems it's more popular this year...? (I've actually done them for literally every year I've been drawing, but since 2008 is when I started to get a bit more serious, I think the comparison from then to now is good enough.
Also, LOL at how I totally ignored the rules and didn't do one per month. WHATEVER. THEY'RE SPACED OUT ENOUGH.
January: This actually didn't take me all that long to draw, but I like it and think it deserves its place because it has a good sense of motion. Also, inking.
February: I guess this one technically counts as a speedpaint, but I honestly spent long enough getting it to look nice that FUCK THAT. >:C Even if I could do better now (but, of course, that's the point of this meme).
February: This is still one of my favorites from this year, because I tried new stylistic things (yes, inspired by My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, which is actually a really artsy show). I also enjoyed working with silhouettes, because you have to think a bit more about posing when you do that.
April: Though I could undoubtedly draw this much better now, I was fucking proud of this at the time okay. I think it was my first inked soft shaded picture in a while, and with a representative background, too.
May: A redo of this earlier picture. Still the most fun I've had working on a picture to date~ I'm considering redrawing this every year just for fun -- it's a good picture with which to play around with styles.
June: The original picture is sexy and you guys don't get to ever see it. |D But anyway, it actually marked huge improvement in a few areas. Like...I experimented and used purple-tinted shading, which I ended up really liking, and the posing was very intricate and technically difficult.
June: Though this was done in a fit of depression, I think it's still good art. I played around with colors and texturing.
September: Okay, so I know this one is basically a colored sketch, but I got to draw a curvy female-type person so it was a good practice and deserves to be on here.
October: One of my first experiments with combining my soft shading and cel-shading styles. I LOVE IT AND WILL DO MORE LIKE THAT FOR SURE FFF. :D
November: This one is included because this picture looks very...complete? Hmm. I guess I just mean that the sketchy look was on purpose and it's got a background and I am happy I drew a background.
November: Basically colored sketches, but I think this meme is full of pretty good colored sketches. >:C I'm proud, at least. Vaazrith (my Seviper) in particular is featured here because I learned how to draw scales with her. Hand-drawn texturing is the best, holy shit.
November: I included this just because it was so...different? It shows how I've been branching out. First ever drawing of a skeleton.
I'm happy to say that I have gotten much better this year, despite the SUMMER-LONG ART DROUGHT. I've been doing a bit of more extreme experimentation this past month, actually, but I didn't have any examples good enough to put up on this meme.
