Huh... you'll find angels shooting arrows all around you, falling stone blocks, more angels that look like italian bodyguards throwing MORE stone blocks...
Oh yeah, and a giant metal brick with an eye shooting thunderbolts.
Finding her there would be like finding a oasis in a desert.

You don't think I know that? Nemesis, Bubbler, Fireball, Missile Launcher, Potion no.2 (no.1 used on the Core, you can visit her to get another), the good old Spur, the Whimsical Star for killing enemies on the other side of walls, Booster 2.0, Armour and the Tow cable. STILL the flippin' Hell level gets the better of me every time.
Thing is, I'm probably going to go Blade just for the damage per second against Ballos - the LVL 2 form should provide quite the damage output, especially with the Guard buffering against the already large damage before levelling back down to 1. I keep switching to the Nemesis by accident...
For Ballos? His Meteor form is so weak against Super Missile spam XD
In fact, here's a cool video to give you some hints. It's with the Spur, so you could save your gameplay yet:
Some hints:
- The Spur and the Nemesis doesn't need EXP, so you could use it on the falling block scene, where you're prone to be hit and lose EXP with a weapon you'll need it.
- Also, the blocks only hurt you until they hit the floor. They don't when they bounce off.
- There's some people who go minimalistic on Hell Runs, by playing the game and skipping EVERY weapon. That way you can quickly change between the Spur (or any variant of it), the Nemesis and the Missile Launcher, which are plot-essential (the missile launcher will be get nonethless on Balrog's third battle. Instead of the Super Missle, it'll give you a regular one if you never got it before). That could help you into changing weapons by reflex.

I'm pretty damn sure that I've been hurt before by the bounce of a block. And the Fireball and Bubbler are the most useful to me in the main section of Hell as they are alternate attack directions. I know the THEORY of the run, even got to Meteor Ballos once, but I never have consistent good luck.
It's kind of sitting in my sketchbook at the moment. I haven't found time to really work on it as much as I would have liked to. I'll get back on it eventually, probably when Cave Story gets released on Wiiware as a bit of a celebration.
I do have most of the story details mapped out for the most part. One of the things that held me back the longest was deciding which direction it would read in. ^_^;;

Oh, really? I find sketchbooks a bit annoying to use with a scanner. I'm more of a blank printer paper person myself, though I doodle mainly on notebook paper.
I'm guessing by the fact that you said it's in your sketchbook, you probably solved the direction problem?
Also, I'd like to thank you - your art has reminded me of a lot of old things I meant to practice drawing.
