In the shadows where my emotions boil
I seethe in pits of pain and chambers of darkness
Where my heart once was and now there is nothing
Gunshot wounds from thirteen stories up, wings useless
As I made my imprint below the burning sky on Devil's Night
Maybe it couldn't rain all the time
But it doesn't rain, it fucking drowns me
It buries those like me down here in the depths
The fire envelops and destroys, burns, screaming
This city that is paved with the poor, black as night
Not even with a fitting tombstone to hold down my soul
I didn't leave much behind in this life
Not like I had much to leave, either, no
Everything was ripped away from me through that window
The blood raining down on me was my own
What the hell did it show to you?
I was a victim, like many before
But I'm back
Vengeance comes back, it always does, inevitable
This black-suited, red-eyed, unbleeding friend of mine
Painted up with white and black, harlequin smile of his
It's me, you see, and I've come to take everything back
You can't hide from this pain that you made, I remember it
I hold it all to give back to you, so many hours, to drive you insane
Burn it down, break bones, shot dead, lose your head
Lose faith, murder, rape, destroy, employ thugs, use drugs
Lots of sex, car wrecks, crooked flight, big fight, no foresight
What she said, children dead, morphine addiction, contradiction
No right for a mother to smother the needs of her daughter for cash
Learn to love, black dove, fall away, greet the day, rain washes blood away
Black as night over white, my eyes will shine out
I will right your wrongs, sing the crow song, not for long
I will avenge her, revenge her, reunited, no longer divided
Once I am through with you, your blood will paint the streets
And it will rain down upon you while the clouds no longer rain on me
In the shadows where my emotions boil
I seethe in pits of pain and chambers of darkness
Where my heart once was and now there is nothing
Gunshot wounds from thirteen stories up, wings useless
As I made my imprint below the burning sky on Devil's Night
Maybe it couldn't rain all the time
