My completely re-designed Sonic OC - Danno, makes his official internet re-debut in this picture. More importantly this is a tribute to my Dad who passed away from brain cancer on December 3rd 2011. Its been a long time since i felt like drawing anything and i've made a new year's resolution to draw more often because i want to get back into it and improve the way i do things.
Anyways, here Danno is sporting the home kit of Walsall Football Club, who currently ply their trade in nPower League One here in the English Football League (two divisions below the Premier League). I started supporting Walsall thanks to my Dad, who started to take me with him to Walsall matches when i was a wee nipper. I've always supported Liverpool in truth but Walsall are my local team, lol.
I have a lot of fun memories watching Walsall FC with my Dad down the years. I haven't been to see a game at the Banks's Stadium since he first became ill, but i have decided that i will start going to games again from Saturday March 10th. On that day Walsall play at home against Hartlepool United, my Dad was born in Hartlepool, so i figure that will be a good fixture to see as my first match back.
The stadium in the background is indeed the Banks's Stadium, where Walsall FC play all their home games. It was also a place to bond for me and my Dad, so now it's an even more special place to me, no matter how good or bad Walsall play or what league they end up in. On Danno's shorts you'll notice the number 53, which is the year of my Dad's birth. I'm going to buy myself a new Walsall FC home shirt with "Perkins" and that number on the back of it as a tribute to him. He was my hero.
There's a small picture of my Dad just above the Walsall FC crest. Just incase you can't read the text below, it reads;
"For 'Stephen T. Perkins'.
God bless and Rest In Peace Dad.
I will never forget you and i'll always love you.
Thank you for letting me be your son. Walsall FC 'till i die."
A proper picture of Danno's regular design will be up soon. Yeah he's a squirrel...yeah i'm a Sally Acorn fanboy, you do the maths. XP
Hope you all like, sorry about the picture quality, like i said, it's been a long time since i've drawn anything.

My condolences to your dads passing. I don't DISlIKE the quality of the drawing in fact I think it adds depth and distance to it by showing the things in the background are further away from the foreground. I feel your pain for your dads passing. I've had several loved ones pass away the most cherished loved ones being my cat and my great grandmother. So I hope you work hard to draw more than ever. Keep your dad in your heart when you draw and you'll have as much inspiration as you need.
