Creative title, I know. I suck at those. Whaat? The Exiles technically ARE the Champions of the Omniverse, aren't they? In a strange, wacky expendable kind of way at least.
And why this? Because Exiles rock. And Sabes happen to be the only one I tend to draw at least half resembling his original self...
Even though this wasn't actually any sudden surge of inspiration. This concept has been lying on my desk and in my head for about a year now and actually does have other Exiles in it as well. I have Sage, Spark, Banshee and Mystiq pretty much fleshed out and I'm actually toying with the idea of turning them to life. I sort of like that soft squishy new technique I managed to learn with this piece...
That's the only thing though I managed to get right though. For a second, I thought I might finally have a solid grip on my skill as well. Then I failed again. So. Many. Damn. Errors. >< Oh well. I still have miles of progress ahead of me, I suppose. Better get going then.
I managed to record the process, so if my computer agrees with me and you're interested, I'll later post a video of my errors for everyone to possibly avoid. And maybe some helpful things to learn from. Hopefully, there are some.
Oh, and by the way, I managed to move the comic quite a deal over my holiday. I decided to update the way I did the prologue: scene-by-scene instead of page-by-page to make it easier for you to follow. Next update should be... wait for it... seven pages long. Yay.
And now if you'll excuse me, I'll go drop to bed dead to be fresh enough in the morning to bite through my mail and newsbox messages gathered over the course of my vacation.

I understand why you did (and there's an army of such readers), missing out Blink from the action was probably one of the things that buried New Exiles low below the reader radar. Especially to the fans who remembered Psylocke not as the original character she was around X-Men #220, but more like the stuck-up arrogant bitch she was in the nineties (I counted among them, I admit), since she basically took over as the lead female character in Blink's stead. But at least the first two books are definitely worth it - the ones made in collaboration with Tom Grummett. It's fairly obvious that Claremont enjoed working with him and they brought back the atmosphere similar to the original Golden Age X-Men of the eighties; a band of heroes living together who occassionally save the world. Its biggest weakness is the short span. When Claremont doesn't get enough space to write a saga, you get the feeling you're not being told everything. Even though, unlike X-Men Forever, New Exiles have at least been concluded, even though after Grummett's departure, it got a bit worse.
Looong story short, if you enjoyed the last two books of the old Exiles, you should try the first two volumes of the new. They have the same spark, the same drive, just a bit different team.

I think that if it means Rick Remender's going to write him, he should've stayed dead. Or nonexistent. Or retconned, or whatever his status was before Uncanny X-Force. That book might have good ideas, but the execution of characters is almost painful. His reunion with Psylocke made me headdesk really hard. I still have a bump to prove it.
Plus, Marvel should really decide whether they retconned the (New) Exiles, pretend they never happened, acknowledge them or what. Putting toghether character bios right now is next to impossible.
